The mission of the Friends of the El Cerrito Library is to support the Library’s programs and collection materials. The Friends raise funds from membership dues and book sales. Friends also support community events to raise funds for the Library, such as books, services, money, endowments, and bequests. Since 2000, the group has raised over $200,000 for the Library.
Established in 1975, the Friends of the El Cerrito Library brings together over 100 long-time supporters of the library and dedicated local volunteers who care about books, literacy, and libraries, and promote these issues in El Cerrito and nearby communities.
Friends of the El Cerrito Library is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. In order to ensure Friends has the respect and trust of the general public and that donors and prospective donors will be confident in the Friends group and the causes the Friends supports, we acknowledge all donors have these rights outlined in the AFP’s Donor Bill of Rights.
